Birds Euroshow Funfair makes a welcome return to Castlebar this month in association with Castlebar Boxing Club. Ireland's largest travelling funfair will open on Friday April 24th at Castlebar Military Barracks and run until Sunday, May 10th.

With a line-up of attractions which includes two rollercoasters and a host of top thrill rides, Birds Euroshow is sure to be a huge hit with thrill seekers of all ages.

To celebrate the return of the funfair to Castlebar, a monster fireworks display will light up the night sky on opening night. Donal McMahon of Rocket Pyrotechnics in Wicklow, has designed some of Ireland's most spectacular fireworks displays from the Phoenix Park to the Rose of Tralee.

Donal and his crew will certainly get the show off to a bang!

Top class family entertainment is guaranteed with lots of kiddie rides and family attractions. From Bounceworld - a large soft play area - to the new Dumbo ride and the Whacky Worm junior rollercoaster, Birds Euroshow will present a huge array of family rides including many which parents and children can enjoy together.

For the more daring, some top "white-knuckle"rides will be part of the show. The Ice Jet and Take Off will be big hits, but the star attraction will surely be the 100 feet high Dominator - a pendulum ride regarded by many to be the most thrilling ride in the modern fairground.

Traditional favourites such as the Waltzer, Gallopers and Dodgems will also return. For those who prefer to remain on "terra firma," lots of side shows and games of skill and chance will provide the opportunity to win some terrific prizes.

Norman Bird Jnr, a Director of the company said the Bird family were delighted to bring Euroshow back to Castlebar with "a mix of traditional and modern rides and an emphasis on value for money family entertainment".

The funfair is part of a number of upcoming events which include the Pink Ribbon Cycle for Cancer Research and Mayo Day on Saturday, May 2nd.
