From Castlebar - County Mayo - Mayo Education Centre Ms. Bernie Rowland has recently been elected as Chairperson of the Management Committee of Mayo Education Centre. Bernie is a member of the staff of Davitt College, Castlebar and is the first post primary teacher to hold this position of chairperson at Mayo Education Centre. Bernie is looking forward to supporting the educational community throughout Mayo during her two year term of office.
Mayo Education Centre is one of 21 Full Time Education Centres strategically located throughout Ireland and responsible for the provision of continuous professional development and support for teachers and the wider school community at local and national level.
Mayo Education Centre is also responsible for the administration of the Junior Cycle Physical Support Service for all post –primary schools in Ireland and manages the Active School Awards, which is a national initiative open to all primary and post-primary schools. © Copyright 2007 by Castlebar - County Mayo - |
