Dinner Dance
The Annual Dinner Dance has been postponed to Sat Mar 2 in the Welcome Inn Hotel. Apologies to all who had made special arrangements to attend but a combination of event clashes and non availability of special guests forced the postponement. Auld stock, however will have the new tickets on sale shortly.

Best Wishes
The club extends best wishes to Kevin and Anne who are getting married next Fri. No doubt the Feb issue of The Mitchel will contain full details of the 'Edinburgh Trip'.

McGrath Cup
Good to see Russell Gibbons on the winning Clare team in the McGrath Cup. Well done Russell

Sympathies
The club extends deepest sympathies to John Brennan and the Brennan family on the recent death of Richard Brennan. Ar dheis De a raibh a anam dilis.

Material for Notes
Please note that any information for inclusion in these notes must be with the PRO by 8pm on a Sun.

Football
The Town League gets under way next Sun. It is hoped to have four team playing in a league format each Sun. If dithering with the thought of rejuvenating youth, then dust down the gear and who knows you might have a new beginning. Young players are very welcome.

Ladies Football
The Ladies held their AGM recently and full details will be published next week

Club Meeting
The club meeting on Sat last unanimously passed a clarification on the Football report and now the hard work commences of translating words and ideas into action on the field. The process of filling the various appointments is already under way and a full announcement will be made shortly. Under the terms of the clarification the Comhairle Pheil will be responsible for all football within the club, whilst Bord na nOg will administer under age football. The clarification is a positive enhancement of the football report whilst at the same time recognising the most important position of Bord na nOg within the overall structure. In order to refocus on football, the process of implementing the Football report will begin immediately. Monthly football meetings, with a single agenda of football, will commence shortly and this will allow the executive to concentrate on 'Corporate Mitchels'. The new structures are designed not as further bureaucracy or simple talking shops but as practical solutions to the many challenges facing the club, both on and off the pitch. To succeed will require the support and commitment of all working as a team with the focus set on realisable targets. It is hoped that the passion of the last few weeks will translate into a new and real support for all the Mitchels teams during the season.
