Kelly Cup

Castlebar Mitchels 1-8 : Ballinrobe 0-8

Although short a number of key players both teams put in a competitive hours football last Sat in McHale Park. With the extremely difficulty underfoot conditions, attractive flowing football was out of the question. The game was played with pace and endeavour and what both teams lost as a result of heavy conditions was replaced by workmanlike and enterprising football. At the end of the game Mitchels just had enough in the tank to edge out a very good team by the only goal of the match

Under 10

Castlebar Mitchels U-10 play Breaffy in the first round of the Community Games on Thursday evening at 7pm in Breaffy. This is our first outing at this level so we would appreciate any support from other club members as this would mean a lot not only to the young lads but also to the next generation of players. The greatest input into the club certainly is at the under age level and we look forward to a turnout deserving of the efforts of these players

Town League

The weather has laid waste the best plans for the town league so will decide on a blitz format next Saturday. With the holiday season just round the corner we would like to have this competition completed and in order to give everyone a chance to play we will, divino gratis and the weather hope to have successful blitz next week end.

Mayo v Roscommon and Connaught Final

Sincere thanks to all who helped in the preparations and arrangements for last Sundays game. The Connaught Final this coming Sunday will make a heavy demand on all once again. If you find yourself with a little time on hands during the coming week, your help would be much appreciated whether it be in cleaning, hauling or even more creative activity, please come along any evening and you will be directed to a small but not insignificant task.
