Football Coaching
All players in the 13 to 16 year age-bracket are invited to attend a special coaching school which will be held in McHale Park from Mon 15 Jul to Fri 16 Jul. The school will cover all aspects of the game with particular emphasis on the various skills and skill development, team play, exercises, injury prevention, nutrition etc. Each day the session will run from 10 am to 2 p.m. and will have in attendance coaches and managers. Players who wish to attend should note that they will require sufficient gear to cover 2 session per day. They should also bring along runners as given the weather some sessions may have to be held indoors. This is a great opportunity for all players in this bracket to get the best of coaching and thus improve both their skills and also their knowledge of the game. Look forward to seeing you all.

The Championship
At the time of going to print, it is still not certain when the Championship will take place but it will certainly take place in the next few weeks as the County Board are anxious to run the competitions as close to the original fixture dates as possible. Keep in contact with the Club as your support will be needed for all games. The Intermediate team had a run out over the weekend and if nothing else they got a lot of hot air out of the system. With these types of games in the past it is now time to get serious and to deliver the potential

Mitchels U-10 V Breaffy in the Community Games.
Score Castlebar 7 - 7 : Breaffy 5 - 8.
In a very open and high scoring game, Mitchels took an early lead but were soon pegged back by Breaffy. When the pressure from Breaffy came on, the Mitchels lads had to dig deep and with intelligent play they managed to weather a storm and began to score. The game was played in a very sporting spirit by both sides. Mitchels had to hold on in the last five minutes, which saw Breaffy score two goals. This was a great win by the young Mitchels and with determination and commitment these players can have a lot to look forward to.
