Civic Reception for Castlebar Mitchels

Castlebar Town Council accorded Castlebar Mitchels a civic reception in the Linenhall on Saturday 11 December 2010. The Mayor of Castlebar Cllr Ger Deere and the Town Councillors were present as well as Mr Enda Kenny TD, members of the Mayo GAA Co Board, relatives of deceased members of Castlebar Mitchels and past and present members of the club. The President of the GAA Mr Christy Cooney was the special guest.

A plaque was unveiled in the Linenhall to mark the occasion of the first meeting of Castlebar Mitchels Club taking place in the Linenhall on 11 December 1885.
