Following two sold-out nights at the Linenhall Arts Centre in June this year, when they ‘entertained & uplifted' the audience, Castlebar Gospel Choir make a welcome return to the Royal Theatre, Castlebar on Sunday 3rd November 2013, supporting Ireland's greatest voice - Red Hurley and Soprano Sandra Oman, in The Spiritual Hits Concert - ‘How Great Thou Art'.

Red Hurley is one of Ireland's elite legendary entertainers, whose singing career has spanned several decades. He is principally known as a solo artist, although he has performed with various bands including (in his early career) some of Ireland's top showbands. Though he straddled the showband era, Red Hurley emerged most strongly in the 1970s as one of the country's first pop stars. In 1976 Hurley represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "When", composed by Brendan Graham. He is one of the most successful solo male singers in Irish show-business history, with a chart and live performance career spanning five decades. He remains one of Ireland's best loved entertainers and, since 2005, has also enjoyed significant success in both the UK and USA markets, with his forays into inspirational Gospel Recordings, with luminaries such as Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey and Terry Wogan numbered among the admirers of the Irish-born singer.

Red Hurley is once again back on top and it seems he is enjoying every minute. He continues to tour regularly in both the US and Ireland with his most recent 7 date Irish mini tour in 2012 selling out at venues across Ireland.  See Red, supported by Castlebar Gospel Choir at the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, on Sunday 3rd November 2013.  Tickets €28 incl. booking fee, available from the Box Office 094-9023111, and usual Ticketmaster outlets
