Mayo International Choral Festival - what's it all about!

The Mayo International Choral Festival (24th - 27th May 2012) will host over thirty national and international male / female adult choirs on a competitive and non-competitive basis. Their visit will include a number of evening and daily performances county-wide, tours of Mayo and a gala concert in the Royal Theatre on Saturday night. The theme of the festival is to allow choirs to meet with other choirs, relax and enjoy a great weekend in the beautiful West of Ireland. The festival has the support of Fáilte Ireland, Mayo County Council, Lions Clubs and local Mayo choral groups in the different towns, to coordinate concerts by the visiting choirs in each of the towns, and to act as hosts for the visiting choirs.You are invited to attend a General Public meeting in relation to the Festival on Wednesday 7th March at the TF Royal Hotel, Castlebar, 8.30pm.

This is the opportunity for anyone with an interest in the festival, or in business in Mayo, to find out more about the event, how to get involved and how their businesses can benefit. This is a great opportunity for Mayo businesses and at this meeting you will receive an overview on the event as a whole and the many events taking place county-wide, the competitions, venues and more importantly how Mayo can benefit and how you can play your part. A representative of any member of the public, all community and business groups, including a representative of each Mayo choirs, are invited to attend.
