Fantasy is back, with an exciting new music theatre talent to make his Opera Australia debut! Get ready to meet three little maids from school, a wand'ring minstrel, and, as Lord High Executioner, singer, actor and star of Avenue Q, Mitchell Butel. He leads a cast of Opera Australia savoyards including Taryn Fiebig, Annabelle Chaffey and Dominica Matthews as the three little maids, Warwick Fyfe as the preposterous Pooh-Bah and Richard Alexander and Jacqueline Dark as the scary Mikado and Katisha. What makes this production such an all-time favourite? Perhaps it is director Stuart Maunder's instinct for fun, or Tim Goodchild's whimsical sets and glorious costumes. Maybe it is the outstanding performers, the big orchestral sound and the irrepressible antics of the award-winning Opera Australia Chorus.
