Mayo's Secret Symbols
12, Apr 2019 - 10:34

Did you ever look around the landscape of Mayo and notice signs and symbols that looked familiar and you wondered where you saw them before?

For example, why does the interpretative centre at the CĂ©ide Fields resemble the back of the US $1 Bill? Why are there Pyramids at The Neale and Foxford? Why are so many similar symbols located in urban and rural Ireland and across the world? Are Ley Lines and Spiritual Grids real? Is our architecture influenced by them? Are people influenced by them? Is Newgrange a once off are is it linked to other features in Ireland and abroad?

Could Mayo's architecture be hiding secrets? Where did Mayo get Pyramids and Obelisks? Is there a link between ancient Egypt and Mayo? Is the Vatican involved in all this?

Why did the British Army use the Parnell Monument as a background for their victory photograph in 1916? Why does Arthur Griffith's grave have a broken obelisk as a headstone? Why were the Axis Forces in WW2 so called? How is the O'Connell monument and the Spire on O'Connell St. linked to all this?

Are conspiracy theories reflected in our architecture?

A lot of questions posed and some answers given in a fascinating talk by Capt. Donal Buckley in The Bridge, Castlebar on Sat 27th April at 8.p.m."
