To the Right Hon.
The Earl of Lucan
Castlebar House

May it please your Lordship,

We the undersigned inhabitants of Castlebar take this the first favorable opportunity since your Lordships succession to the family estates of presenting you with an address of welcome in which we desire to include the noble Lady your Countess and the other members of your family who now accompany your Lordship.

Her Ladyship many members of whose illustrious family have left their marks on the history of the country has already during the few days of her residence amongst us won golden opinions from all with whom she has come in contact and we confidently trust that this is but the first of many visits to the Town of which your Lordship is proprietor.

We hail as a happy omen for the future of your Lordships generous dealings with your Tenantry and more especially the desire evinced of benefitting the residents of the Town by allocating portions of adjacent lands for their accommodation. We are satisfied that this will do much to cement and increase the friendly relations that have hitherto existed between your Lordships family and the people of Castlebar.

Wishing your Lordships family every prosperity as well as long and happy lives.
We remain
Your Lordship's faithful Servants
