“Gathering Liturgy”

As part of the preparation for the Eucharistic Congress in 2012, we as a Parish are invited to ‘Gather’ at 3.30pm on Sun. 14th Nov. in the carpark beside the lake at Lough Lannagh. This Gathering Liturgy will celebrate the unique character of our Parish. At this Liturgy those laid to rest in the Old Cemetery will be especially remembered.


Mayo Roscommon Hospice

Sponsor a light on their Tree of Light in Knock for the Christmas period. Cards available at local Chemists and Hospice Support groups. Tickets also available for the musical ‘On a Wing and a Prayer’ running from 25th to 27th Nov. Contact 094 9388666.


Support Group Meeting for families and carers of people suffering with Dementia will be held on Thurs 18th at 8p.m. in the Family Centre. All are welcome.


St. Joseph’s Young Priest’s Society

Mass for the deceased members in the Parish Church on Tues. 16th Nov. at 7.30p.m.


Table Quiz in Rocky’s Bar, on Wed 17th Nov. at 9pm. In aid of Aisling Neary’s School in Ghana.

Ecumenical Service for those bereaved through suicide in the Parish Church on Fri. 19th Nov. at 8p.m. This is an opportunity for members of the community to support those families in our midst that have been bereaved through the death of somebody they loved through suicide. It is also a time for families to remember their loved ones and celebrate their lives. There will be light refreshments following the service.


Mayo Historical and Archaeological Soc. - An Illustrated lecture by Prof. Peter Coxon TCD. “Changing Landscapes of Western Ireland: climate and scenery.” GMIT Wed., Nov. 17th at 8pm. All welcome.


Looking for a job? JobFit is a FREE programme of training in Fetac Level 3 and 4 for unemployed people who are in receipt of social welfare for 3 months plus and are qualified to Junior Cert or below. The prog. will help them improve their skills and find a job or progress on to further education held in Castlebar. Tel. 094 9035688.
