Here we go again!
Ok, so I swore last time, my goof sorry. But this weekend coming leaves no reason to do so. Why? Because even though the season is winding down in Gaelic games and soccer, it is starting to heat up nicely in rugby and countless other sports.
There is action in Castlebar and Headford this weekend. Castlebar, even though their qualifying series is over have an interesting game against Corrib. Westport are in action in Headford when they face Monivea in the final of the same competition.
There are games at underage level as well so keep an eye on the papers for that one. In Soccer the Mayo League hold their annual dinner at the TF and it will be a grand affair with over twenty presentations taking place. There are also fixtures the following day (God help them!). Should be a good night.
In Gaelic games, the season winds down further with county finals at u-17b, minor league div 3 and in Hurling, the county junior championship final. After their fantastic success last weekend, the athleties of Castlebar will be resting ahead of the All-Irelands taking place the following weekend and in Showjumping there are league finals taking place at indoor level.
