A Mad Week

If I never go through another weekend like last weekend, it will be too soon. Castlebar had victory cruelly taken away from them on Sunday last by a Penalty after SEVEN minutes of injury time. What a way to go! On the other hand, in Gaelic games Mayo's hurlers are just seventy minutes away from a possible division three final after a good win last weekend, they now face Monaghan on Sunday. It was one of those weekends last weekend, beautiful weather, good sport and all round good stuff, apart from the rugby but I'm not bitching (Oh yes you are!!...Internet sports Ed)

This Weekend is going to be interesting and if you are from Ballinrobe, maybe something very special. Ballinrobe take on Corinthians in the Connacht junior cup semi-final. The summer league begins in GAA with a couple of good games in store. Soccer in the county enters week three of the season and the clock is seriously counting down towards the Connacht junior cup final where Celtic are involved. The show jumping season has started in earnest and in motor sport the season is now in full swing. Sadly for Basketball, Rugby and other winter sports the season is winding down. But if you are an Athletics fan, brace your self because the Community games are nearly upon us. There is so much going on this Summer that it will be nearly impossible to keep up. But it will be fun.

As always stay tuned to local press and radio for details and always stay in touch with you're own www.castlebar.ie for all that happens. Have a good one!
