Green Flag Raising at St Patricks BNS

Friday May 29th was a very special day in St Patricks BNS Castlebar. The school was celebrating the raising of its 6th green flag, this time for global citizenship.

Noe Baba presents a signed Castlebar Celtic jersey to the school. He is pictured with Mr Joe Carty, school principal.

The guest of honour was past pupil of the school, and Fulham footballer Noe Baba. The pupils and staff were delighted to welcome Noe back to the school and he spoke to the boys about his training regime, his influences growing up and what it was like to play against and mark Robin Van Persie!

Over 30 nationalities are represented in St Patricks and the boys made and displayed their national flags in celebration in the school hall.

Congratulations to the Green Schools Committee led by Mrs McManamon and Mrs McTeague, and all of the pupils and staff. The invited guests were also treated a performance by the wonderful school choir lead by Orla Uí Dhomnaill.
