St Patricks De La Salle BNS in association with the Rotary Club of Castlebar and the HSE is taking part in a new project called The Health Promoting School. A health promoting school encourages teachers, students and parents to examine how healthy lifestyle and environments may be built upon within the school.

St Patricks is committed to creating an awareness of nutrition values and the necessity for 60 minutes of daily physical activity which brings about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

This week is Healthy Eating Week in St Patricks. The Let's Move Logo has been adopted and the Let's Move Flag has been raised on the school flagpole. A large number of special guests visited the school including Mr Enda Kenny, Mayor of Castlebar Mr Ger Deere, representatives from the Rotary Club and the HSE. A special word of recognition goes to the Health Promoting School committed headed by Mr James Armstrong of St Patricks for the huge amount of hard work they have put into launching this project.
