Staff and students at St Patricks BNS, Castlebar were very busy for Seachtain na Gaeilge. The week started off with dance in the hall for the Junior and Senior Infants. They really enjoyed listening to traditional music and trying out some dance steps! The boys in 1st and 2nd classes enjoyed games of Bingo as Gaeilge, and also performed a few songs and poems that they had learned. 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes all took part in quizzes which were very enjoyable.

Staff and students made a special effort to speak as much Gaeilge as possible and celebrate our native language. The Junior classes were treated to a very special performance from some of the members of the Achill Pipe Band. Miss Thomas, senior infant teacher at St Patricks, invited some of her fellow band members to play with her, and everyone agreed that they were go hiontach ar fad!! The week came to a close with a Lá Glas. Staff and students made a special effort to wear green to celebrate the last day of Seachtain na Gaeilge.
