Universally considered ‘Britain’s greatest living comedian’, Billy Connolly has been described as ‘a genius’, his concerts ‘otherworldly’ and his honesty ‘terrifyingly insightful’. Revered across the globe, he has broken box office records from the UK to New Zealand. Now, Billy arrives at the TF Royal Theatre Castlebar - for two nights only - bringing his hilarious take on all things taboo!

Too Old To Die Young is Billy at his best – uncensored, uncut and as unpredictable as ever!

"It's just territory that I know," Billy says of his show "Anything that's uncomfortable is great to share with people. It's not necessarily about age, it's about discomfort."

From the early days, the type of audience Billy attracted at live performances was as diverse as his material: working man and celebrity alike packed halls all over the UK. An example could be seen at his hour-long special with London Weekend Television’s An Audience with Billy Connolly and his two-week sell out run at the London Palladium attended by the likes of Elton John, Bob Hoskins, George Michael, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr and Twiggy.

To say that Billy Connolly is just a comedian, however, is inadequate. Inadequate because not only does he have an innate gift to make people laugh at the most ordinary observations of everyday life, but his talent is extended into many fields – playwriting and acting among them. In 1978 he appeared with the Scottish Opera in Die Fledermaus at the Royal Glasgow. Since then he has starred in TV series’ including Head of the Class and Billy as well as numerous films with co-stars such as Richard Burton, Dame Judi Dench, Michael Caine and Michelle Pfeiffer.

In 1987, Billy completed a World Tour, performing in over a dozen Countries culminating in six performances at the Royal Albert Hall, from which his video Billy and Albert was recorded. The video subsequently sold well in excess of 250,000 copies, went triple platinum and has since become the best selling comedy video of all time!

Billy started 2006 with his "Too Old To Die Young" tour in Australia which sold out in a matter of hours. He also completed a 6 week theatre run at the off-Broadway 37 Arts Theatre in New York and towards the end of the year sold out a month long tour of Canada. In 2007 the tour traveled to England and Wales selling out every venue!

Don’t miss this Scottish legend – probably the most popular comedian in the world,
