Arlo Guthrie was born in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York in 1947. He is the eldest son of legendary folk pioneer Woody Guthrie.

Arlo Guthrie's career exploded in 1967 with the release of Alice's Restaurant and he went on to star in the 1969 Hollywood film based on the song; the same year he appeared at the Woodstock Festival.

At 18 minutes and 34 seconds, Alice’s Restaurant was too long for radio airplay but Arlo managed to achieve chart success when he released the definitive rendition of Steve Goodman's "City of New Orleans".

Over the last four decades Guthrie has toured throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia winning a wide, popular following.

In 2006 Arlo toured with his family in the "Guthrie Family Legacy Tour". And now, for the first time since his early days, he has taken to the road by himself on "The Solo Reunion Tour: Together at Last".

In addition to his accomplishments as a musician, playing the piano, six and twelve-string guitar, harmonica and a dozen other instruments, Arlo is a natural-born storyteller, whose tales and anecdotes figure prominently in his performances.
