17, Mar 2011 - 10:39

THE CENTRE FOR CREATIVE PRACTICES cordially invites you to the opening of:

"ATAHUALPA's GOLD" an exhibition by Isabela Basombrio Hoban.

This exhibition refers to the current economic climate in Ireland and the larger question of value and meaning through the use of gold. The "gold" objects on view are a reference to the ancient use of gold in Peru, where the artist is originally from. The exhibition title "Atahualpa's Gold" alludes to the 16th century captured Peruvian Inca leader Atahualpa who offered to fill a room with gold in return for his freedom.

Opening Saturday, April 2 from 7-9pm. With Song and Music by John Hoban, Johnny Mulhern and Wally Page.
