My anwser is a resounding NO. I always didn't feel this way. When I was much younger and stared out on the Ambulance( saw so many suffer) I thought absolutly YES to suicide to the terminally ill. As I got older ( yes I am a practicing Catholic)I think aborition and "assisted suicide"are similar , and once the door is wide open , then the invitation for (a stretch) but then who is to say , eventually "this person is too old and draining the system they should not live) ,once a Priest said to me, he was not looking forward to aging , his fear would be to have to be in a wheel chair, and he said there is no easy way out , suffering is part of death and look at Jesus his death , he suffered.( I watched as my own father pass away , for him I know he wouldn't have chosen suicide, that in itself there were so many second guessing questions with a natural death , "if only", I can't imagine the second guessing questions to a suicide )Birth and death are similar in that they are two of the most important days in a persons life, and both the process have pain. This is only my opinion. Over all this suicide thing scares me , that it would open the door to other things, I think when abortion came in so did evil. Watch the suicide stuff , is easy to decieve ourselves just like with abortion in initialy saying "its only tissue" . Not all will agree with me nor do I expect others too, I at one time felt suicide was a good solution, but I wasn't thinking of the big picture. Good luck with this one , its a tough one !
