What basis did Fox have for this ?
Despite being theoretically a neutral country Ireland has allowed its air facilities to be used by the USAF even deploying its own army to protect American planes.
Unlike France or Germany Ireland has never criticised US policy either (even when such criticisim was due)
The Irish Army is small and not trained for operations (other than peacekeeping) abroad
