There is no need to rush to war. I applaud DeFazio and Paul for their convictions to ask a hell bent President to at least ask Congress to declare war. I'm totally against any unilateral (and Britain blindly following the US is still unilateral) action against Iraq. If the UN passes a resolution to invade Iraq, then UN forces can invade. At that time, President Bush should then ask Congress for the declaration of war so that the US may join the UN forces in ousting Saddam. I still think this is a terrible idea. The retribution that the United States will feel will be unlike anything that has ever been seen. At the same time, the US shows itself to be playing favorites as they ignore a more definite situation in North Korea. They are simply looking like a bully that's picking on the favorite subject. They won't "pick" on North Korea because of the China influence. But Iraq has no hidden advocate or protector. It's time for the President of the United States to realize that he leads that government for the people. The US is no longer a country that needs the leader to lead the uninformed masses. There is too much information in various forms for a President or leader of any nation to assume he/she knows best simply because of the position he/she holds. The United States needs more people like those that have protested around the world and DeFazio and Paul to stand up and make themselves heard. The United States has to learn that it no longer holds all the power of the world. And I am personally tired of hearing how the United States saved France in World War II and how France should side with the US. France should follow France. It takes more courage to stand up to a bully than it does to follow one.
