Your right, but the oppoenets he was murdering at the time were largely from a different country i.e Iran. Who were no better than him at the time, hence he was no worse and perhaps the better of a bad lot to back. No one can predict the future, only try and learn.
It is about liberating Iraq, because that is whats going to happen, but contracts on oil is a huge part of what been played with here both by usa, uk, and france and russia on the other hand. As much as I don't kid myself about usa intentions on Iraqi oil, don't kid yourself about France and Russias intentions for the oil also. They are doing what suit them also.
