Indeed - The type of Americans that think that way (and unfortunately some of them are responsible for the formulation of US foreign policy at the minute) are totally introspective and US centeric (I would even go so far as to say empire builders) and many of them don't even have passports and have rarely or ever been outside the country (E.g. GW Bush who'd only been outside America once before he was elected president). it's no wonder they no damn all about the rest of the world.
