Sorry for taking so long to get back to this. You say the revenue should now take a criminal prosecution, but you don't say against whom? Should it be against Beverley? or against NIB, her employers who instructed her to carry out those duties on their behalf? She rightly resigned from the Public Accounts Committee and she was well within her rights to take her case. Obviously she took legal opinion on the issue before embarking on such a course of action. Don't forget also, that RTE failed to prove their case concerning Howard. Now, what questons does that raise from an RTE viewpoint? Were they sloppy in their approach? Did they not bother to ascertain the actual facts? did they decide to run with the story anyway and say to hell with the consequences, or let us hope for the best? That kind of journalism is outdated, unprofessional and smacks of a couldn't care less attitude! Journalists have rights but they also have responsibilities to report accurately, fairly and in an informed balanced way. This did not happen on this occasion.
