And if they did that wouldnt Stauntons etc go out of business too ?
NOT NECESSARILY; BECAUSE ALL SHOPS WOULD BE AFFECTED AND A TRANSITION WOULD OCCUR FROM NIKE TO OTHER PRODUCTS:
"Are these kids made to work"
Nobody (well hardly anybody) is "made" to work but I think youll find that a lot of people like to have little luxaries such as food and a roof (albeit a bit of
corrugated sheet) over their heads. Selfish of them maybe but thats human nature for ya
TRUE BUT YOU CANT COMPARE ALL COUNTRIES ALIKE; AND IT TAKES TIME TO BUILD UP COUNNTRIES ECONOMIES
"Is the money so bad for the economic conditions they live in -Do all large companies who build factories in other countries not pay relevant to the countries
The economic conditions are the way they are BECAUSE the money people get is so bad. Nike/Gap/Addidas are in these countries BECAUSE the pay is so low.
Why do you think Clothes factories In Ireland and the UK are closing down or moving out to sweatshop economies.
TRUE AGAIN; AND WHEN THOSE COMPANIES CAME TO IRELAND IN THE FIRST PLACE WE WERE GLAD TO HAVE THEM; EVEN THOUGH THEY PAID US A LOT LESS THAN SAY THEIR US EMPLOYEES; AS DO MUCH TECH COMPANIES AT PRESENT:
"Do they need this money to survive. Where would they get the money if Nike did not have a factory there"
Well If Nike could employ the PARENTS of these kids and give them decent wages and conditions but its cheaper to enslave and abuse kids
MY MISTAKE; i ACTUALLY THOUGHT IT WAS A SITUATION WHERE WHOLE FAMILIES WERE PRACTICALLY WORKING IN THE SAME PLACE; ADULTS AND KIDS ALIKE:
