Mike I think the point of the 1 and 2 cent coins is to do with the actual changeover. If they didn't have those coins, shopkeepers, barkeepers etc would probably round off the amount to the nearest 5 or 10 cents, probably in their favour. It's to make sure that the general public aren't fiddled in any way.
