My friend,the l000 square miles are for research, in an endeavor to discover oil. Has nothing to do with the tearing down of trees, who, by the way, in the Artic do not benefit anyone. At least that's what my expert from California University at Irvine says. I'm not that smart to give my own opinion. Ha!
As for nuclear disasters, well, we caught it at Three Mile Island. After all, we have far better capabilities than the Russians. Then, as I said before, we are living in a super industrial age, unknown to men in former times. And I'm sure those who are leading the endeavors don't get up in the morning and say, "Let's see, how many can we sacrifice today." We'll have to get real and accept that moderization and advancement cannot be denied. Hopefully with no harm to others, we shall survive.
