I was thinking about your point that people will use quality public transportation, and I realised that whenever I have been to the US this also seems to be the case, particularly in Boston and New York. Their subway systems are packed all the time with people from all walks of life from CEO's to urban sanitation workers it seems. Dublin on the other hand....well, I'm sure you know. So, I'd say you're right, but clearly this is only a small part of the problem. In fact, I wonder what percentage of emissions covered by Kyoto come from vehicles exhausts....is that a major source of the problem or is it industry rather than transport?
