I'm sure the people of Mayo are happy to have a trade off on some environmental issues if our lives are going to be enriched in some way (jobs, infrastructure development, etc.) but if we're getting nothing but empty promises out of this deal then we shouldn't allow it to happen. We didn't let it happen to Croagh Patrick with the gold mining fiasco ! Let them route the pipeline around the coast to Sligo or Galway instead . . at least it won't disrupt our environment !
