do you have any web links to anything on this pipeline? There seems to be very little info on it anywhere. The Bord Gais website just gives the usual blurb about benefits to the West without being very specific & the Mayo County Council website doesn't seem to mention the pipeline at all.
I can understand the pipeline going primarily to major cities like Galway & Dublin but it just seems strange that towns like Tullamore & Clara are being included in the first phase of the pipeline & not a single Mayo town will be connected - and there has been no definite indication that I can see that they ever will be.
I think it's right we should make our voices heard now rather than wait until our roads have been pummelled into dirt tracks by construction crews & the gasfield has been depleted.
I cannot see any greater "commercial viability" for Tullamore or Clara over Castlebar or Ballina, so if one exists it should be outlined & justified.
Can someone tell me exactly what these touted "benefits to the West of Ireand" are? - we suffer the incovenience of the construction phase, it creates feck all local employment & we get no gas! I think we may be sitting through yet another tribunal in years to come if someone doesn't start answering questions now.
