Thanx for reply Edward, i suppose we could mention the links the vatican has with the p2 masonic lodges? and the mafia in its affairs?but that would be wothless point scoring, if you ask anyone here in Ireland if child asbuse is minute among clergy they will tell you a different story its not minute its large and many people are hurting and suffering in this land to try and get any form of relief or justice, i believe its the same in U.S.A at this time, no progress will be made till the church comes clean hands over its files to the civil authorities and begs the forgiveness of the people whos trust and faith they have betrayed, there are many good priests i know but a few rotten apples? well its more than a few and the time has come for a new reformation in the church to begin, its has started now, the people will be mislead no more we all as chritian ministers have to go out and prove ourselves we need to earn the trust of our people, this abuse has just made that harder, and in the parish where i worked the people did all the mork finance visiting sick ect, it does the priest good to earn his own living to be with the people, i have never found that a problem and yes it is paculiar to our tradition, i just hope and pray the faithfull will forgive what has been done to them and their families but when people are committing sucide because no one cares or will listen to them, then drastic action is needed not pious platitudes, let us pray for healing and a new start we might never get another chance with every blessing rev jon
