Is there anything you like about America? On the board over time, it seems you don’t like President GWB , it seems in your view there is nothing he can do correct, you don’t like our government, you don’t like it seems anything, anything at all ! But yet there are those expatriates from Ireland that condemn so many aspects of America but yet I am sure take American dollars gladly as well as the Irish tourism .The exchange earlier between “ETG” and the response of “European” is laughable! Mr. ETG why do you even bother? These people obviously dislike America, granted your responses have been sometimes from a different planet, these folks are not going to change, why are you wasting your time when it is obvious they do not like really anything to do with America? There is so much here in your backyard that you could debate these issues with, and have a chance at a more even playing field. “ETG” you are not going to change their view, let it go. It is a waste of your time. I being from and living in America, I can’t comprehend others view points, that live outside America, I have tried to put myself in others “shoes” it is almost impossible to do so. I realize I need to then respect others opinions, and I do, there is a reason that we all feel the way we do, and it is cultural and individual, I will never understand. At the same time I decided how silly to keep reading about my country being bashed, I do take this personally, I love my country. Once someone on the board wrote something due to the effect Americans take comments about their government as a personal attack and nothing is meant towards the American individuals. A great portion of the “individuals” that I know and grew up with, our fathers WW2 vets, and after Sep.11, so many teenagers this year upon turning 18 voluntarily, signed up for the draft, my point being many Americans would die for their country and feeling so strong about America how can one separate and not take comments personally? I identify so strongly with my country, I love my country, I would die for my country America. America is not perfect, it is my home and I have freedom, I will fight for that freedom! Yes when negative comments are made about my country I do take it personally! I have to ask myself why do I keep reading a BB that keeps slamming my home, there has to be something not quite right with me.
