The French Election results show that there is a fine balance between left and right and this balance is in part controlled by the radical elements on both sides. Jospin would have done fine if it were not for the other more radical left wing parties and Chirac would probably have had a bigger lead if it were not for Le-Pen. The philosophical nature of the french electorate means that they "court" radicals on both sides and will probably continue to do so. I hope the text below formats OK.
