Remember these are the people who ran the League into the ground this year and failed to handle the World Cup debacle with any degree of professionalism. If the Premiership in the UK had finished in the same way as the Irish league the whole world would've known about it and they would've laughed themselves stupid, we're fortunate that it has such a low profile. It doesn't matter if they're well intentioned and dedicate a lot of their time to the cause . . . they made a hash of it and the guilty parties should step down as a result. It's a bit like the GAA play for pay issue. If you're professional and operate at a very high level then you probably should be paid for what you do . . . same should apply to FAI organisers . . . but if you're cr*p and cause a lot of problems for the organisation then you should be out on your ear as there are plenty more volunteers willing and probably more able to take your place. I think the FAI Treasurer said it all when he said he'd resign if there wasn't a proper 'independant' investigation into the World Cup affair . . . he wouldn't have said this unless he was (a) trying to build his own power base or (b) didn't even trust his colleagues in the association. Take your pick !
