Everyone remembers this heroic story. How her convoy was attacked, how she poured a hail of bullets into the enemy, emptying her gun and taking the guns of her fallen comrades. How she sustained brutal injury at the hand of the savage enemy. Remember how it painted a face of the enemy and rallied the Americans against the Iraqis? Well, guess what. The story is mostly false. In actuality, “her gun jammed and she never fired a shot”. In addition, her wounds were from the vehicle crash, not post-capture as told by this administration. Why would they make up such information? Because America needed a hero in this war and we needed justification for killing these barbarians.. Just in Orwell’s 1984, this administration works with misinformation. Supposed Weapons of Mass Destruction. Supposed Al Quaida operatives working in Iraq. Supposed nuclear program. Supposed heroic efforts from a young lady in a repair convoy. It is at a point that I cannot believe a single word from this group. If they would lie about an American soldier in order to rally Americans against Iraq, what else will they lie about? (and, I am sure, in their zealot’s thinking, they are justifying every story, every lie). As we begin to gear up for our next war with Iran, remember these half-truths and outright lies. Remember the motto of Hermann Goerhing: convince the people that they have an enemy and they are being attacked and you can get them to rally behind you. Keep telling the same lie over and over and people will eventually believe it. Meanwhile, asses like Rush Limburger, who were so outraged over a bl*w job in the White House, will not mention a thing about the lies from this administration. Lies which have cost soldiers their lives and the public billions of dollars.
