This is called competition. Michael Kilcoyne castigated the petrol dealers for all selling at precisely the same price - now they appear (finally) to be engaged in proper competition with - as you point out - prices varying on a daily basis. That's the name of the game. There is now a 10 cent difference per litre, on diesel at least, across the town so it really does pay to shop around.
A colleague coming down from Dublin last week was shocked at the prices here especially as he had just filled his tank in Dublin at a much dearer price than he would have got in Castlebar. So crummy? Don't know about that when it comes to fuel prices.
