I know the transatlantic thing is a big hit but it was the lack of europeans who normally lap up natural connemara that surprised me. Its so abvious now how our prices stack up against european competition and its absolutely no use blaming other factros. Either get competitive or get out. But of course we'll blame it on government taxes and rising costs and ignore repeated reports from the consumer association highlighting flagrant profiteering by pubs/restaurants/hotels. Having said that the hotel we stayed in had reduced its weekend rate by 20% so maybe thats a trend that will catch on :-) My advice, haggle everywhere.
