At the moment I'd say it's hard enough to et a working visa to the States - you'lll probably have to have a job lined up before they'll grant you a Visa. Under the current climate over there they are really cracking down. Also if they have it on record that you overstayed a holiday visa or J1 visa in years gone by they will not let you in at all anymore.
