Yes I appreciate that. But putting conditions on what a person does with their gift is not right. I remember a few years back the mother of a child who had died, donated his organs on condition that they would not be given to a black person. If the condition was not signed up to, then nobody would get them. To the best of my recollection they agreed to the condition. If you start saying that George Best's new liver would serve someone more responsible better, then you can say the same for his first liver. It's a small leap to euthanasia.
I understand, though that it's not an ideal situation where the person so cherishes their second chance that they become a monk, but this is the real world. People have to be allowed to live their own life. I know a shortage of livers complicates the situation, but that's not George Best's fault.
