None of the Irish people I know in the UK including my family are appalled with it. But we must know different Irish people. I grew up in Ireland telling Irish jokes alot of which were re-hashed Kerryman jokes. Everyone told then. The careers of Brendan Grace and Neil Tobin were based on Irish jokes. Irish people don't need to be protected from hurt feelings we're tougher than that. The international sign (sign-language for the deaf) for "Irish" is the sign for "dirty". That's not funny and I find that offensive.
