A joke is a joke when it is funny. The Irish culture has never been politically correct, that's part of its charm. It seems silly to use PC to protect it. Just because I am not offended easily does not make me a disgrace to my ancestors. Maybe those who left Ireland have lost some of that culture that they are hanging by a thread to some form of identity that makes them become so easily offended.
Much of the Irish culture is founded on anti-English sentiment from rebel songs to folklore, even to the naming of pets. The Irish would only speak English to dogs because that's all it was fit for. Hence, dogs were always called names like Prince, Queenie, etc. Does that not offend you?
