Throughout the European Union small farmers are struggling to make a living from EU subsidies producing large surpluses of food that theres no market for.
This food ends up being sold below cost in third world countries with the result that farmers there cannot compete and are driven out of business and literally starve to death.
Legalise cannabis and European farmers can produce a product that there is a demand for without and government subsidy.
RESULT:
EU Farmers happy: They make a profit producing a product that there is a demand for
Taxpayer Happy: No more subsidies and exchequer revenue from cannabis duty
Third World Farmers Happy: No more cheap imports from the EU undercutting them.

Incidently the cannabis plant has many uses apart from recreational intoxication. It can be used as an enviornmentally friendly fuel, a raw material for various industries, medicinal uses and even food
