There were very few great coloured scientists, generals, academics before slavery was abolished. Was this because they weren't capable or weren't allowed ? Female emancipation has precipitated a huge increase in womens involvement in society and consequentially in womens advancement in almost every field. To quote historical examples is meaningless because of the constraints society imposed on women in those times.
