I am a Connemara person living in Mayo and about
4 years ago the mountains in Connemara were
blackened by over grazing.I was ashamed of it because it was pure greed that brough it on and
the goverment were also to blame with their
subsidies.Thousands of sheep died in the mountains
so there was a huge cruelty issue.
But there was no landslide to speak of or even bogbursts.
I saw the effects of the bogburst near Balycastle
on the Shenatra hill,it was huge but it happened near the mountain top where nobody lives.
There are a lot of people watching this one for all
kinds of reasons so it will be interesting if we will
get the full story when the experts are done.Then we will be the jury.
