Yes. I remember when Irish farmers couldn't get wives. Girls/women didn't want to live on small farms and the "country side was in decay". I don't think its in decay any longer. And the song "I'm a poor poor farmer what am I going to do....". Must be pre EEC and of course its no longer the EEC. "Gone gone gone I've been gone too long.....".
