I'm pretty sure 3I would've seen the books when they were over (they were in the office for 3 days). I don't recall saying that Eircom were unaware of the potential buyers, as that would've been daft - of course they knew. 3I's head man was explaining that he was extremely impressed with the company and was definitly going to make a bid - and he's never done that (or so he told the CEO).
Anyway, you're asking me questions about things I have little or no knowlegde about - as I said, I was a low level developer and so none of this was my concern.
One thing I must ask you - what are you basing your vast information on? I was there, so I can tell you what I know (and I have).
