I used to be a big fan and supporter of this site but lately Ive become disillusioned with it because of the way As I said since 1999 I have been a big fan of the BB. I have supported it in whatever way I could ,given a lot of time to it, made friends through it and had devoloped a certain sense of loyalty to it but over the past few months I have become VERY disillusioned. It is clear that I am not the only one either. If one goes back through the archives and sees the names of all the regulars who were around on an almost daily basis up to six months ago and see how infrequently (if at all) these people post to the BB at all now. Then theres the way that newcomers have been treated which has been nothing short of a disgrace I bet none of them will be back any time soon. To quote another former regualr with whom Ive been discssing this with on e-mail recently "When I first found the castlebar.ie site, I spent several weeks just reading postings and geting to know the posters. The content was fun, The BB may be getting a lot of hits now but once the Children have got fed up and found some other toy where is it going to be ? Its very sad to see a site which had through the hard work of a lot of people become one of the best websites in Ireland coming to this sorry state and I can only hope that Its not too late to recover. In the meantime I will continue to visit and support in any way I can the "worthwhile" parts of Castlebar.ie (Local Papers, Photoghraphs, Nostalgia to name but three) but as far as this BB goes I have had enough. Im not going to be back unless and until things improve bigtime (and Im not the only one) People can say "good riddance" if they want but as far as those who have dragged the BB into the gutter go the feeling is mutual Apologies to M and the rest of the hardworking crew for the strongly worded sentiments above (and thanks for all the enjoyment Ive got out of the site over the past couple of years) but sometimes there comes a time when unpleasent realities have to be faced up to.
