I am strongly opposed to abortion BUT
I dont understand those that say there should be abortion in "certain circumstances". As I see it it boils down to whether a foetus is a baby with rights or not.
If it is than abortion is murder and should never be allowed under any circumstances (excpt where it happens as an unintended side effect of medical treatment to save the mothers life) furthermore those who have abortions abroad should be tried when they come back into the country (just like people who commit murder abroad can be charged in Ireland) and any abortionist "doctors" who visit the country should be put on trial for crimes against humanity.
On the other hand If the foetus is not a baby with rights then there is no reason for denying anyone an abortion.
I also dont have much time for churches, organisations and conservative politicians who claim to be "pro-life". Most women who have abortions do so because either
Despite abortion being theoretically illegal in Ireland (Theoretically because it doesnt apply to anyone who claims to be suicidal) we have the third highest abortion rate in Europe.
On the other hand the Netherlands has the lowest rate (less than half the Irish rate).
